Ingenium recognized as Code of Conduct for Data Centres Endorser
Green Data centres
Since august 2010 Ingenium can call itself Code of Conduct for Data Centres Endorser. By that Ingenium engages itself to continue to promote the energy efficiency in data centres. Now it’s not only the living and working environment of man that colours extra green, but also the digital world of data centres.
European initiative
The European Commission created the Code of Conduct for Data Centres in reaction to the energy consumption in data centres. enless some action is taken, one can assume that the electricity used in data centres by servers, ICT equipment, the cooling and electrical installation, will continue to rise substantially in the near future.
The Code has the intention of maximising the energy efficiency in data centres, so as to reduce the CO2 emission and the pressure on the facilities. The Code hereby offers a framework of measures for the operators of data centres.
Surplus value
The data centres that the Code of Conduct is applied to, see themselves assured of a better energy efficiency that not only favours the environment, but also reduces the TCO. Ingenium not only has substantial knowledge about energy-efficient data centres, but also about ICT hardware. Starting from the point of view of considering technique and ICT as a whole, one obtains the best results.
As Endorser, Ingenium implements since quite some time the aspect of energy efficiency in the auditing of existing data centres, in the engineering of existing and new data centres, and does also the follow up of energy consumption in the phase of commissioning.
