Ingenium certified as the first Belgian GreenBuilding Endorser

In November 2009 Ingenium obtained the status of GreenBuilding Endorser from the European Commission. This status recognizes that Ingenium makes special efforts in the advise and design of energy efficient and sustainable buildings.
European initiative
The European Commission identifies in its Green paper the building sector as one where important improvements can be realised on the matter of energy efficiency. According to the green paper the building sector is responsible for more than 40 % of the need for energy. Improvements on the heating and cooling of buildings stand for the largest potential for energy savings.
In 2005 the European Commission started the GreenBuilding program on a voluntary basis. This program aims at the improvement of energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energy in private and public non residential buildings in Europe. The program’s target group are the owners of non residential buildings who are prepared to introduce those cost effective and progressive measures in one or more technical fields, that will increase the energy efficiency of their buildings.
The GreenBuilding program rewards the substantial decrease of energy consumption and CO2 emission of a building. Together with the certificates, the guidance and the examples of good practice, the GreenBuilding program serves as a platform for progressive enterprises who want to improve their market share in the field of energy efficiency.
Surplus value
Organisations involved in technical installations, construction, architecture, design or energy-related services, can obtain the GreenBuilding Endorser status. This status shows that as a company you dispose of the necessary competences and qualifications in order to devise plans to improve energy efficiency and implement renewable energy. In this function Ingenium recommends to its clients measures for the use of renewable energy and improvements on energy efficiency.
