In Flanders Fields Museum is Belgium's most important museum concerning the First World War. The museum is located in the Ypres Cloth Hall. The history of this building goes back to the 13th century. The Halls were severely damaged in the First World War. 15 years after the museum opened its doors for the first time, a thorough renovation and expansion was necessary.  After the renovation, the museum has room for a museum foyer, a visitor's centre, a small auditorium, a spacious cafeteria, a knowledge centre and of course space for temporary and permanent exhibitions. Ingenium has seen to the integration of the techniques in the building. This was not an easy task given the historical value of the buildings, listed as a UNESCO protected monument.
