AZ Sint-Maarten

The construction of the new Sint-Maarten Hospital, near the Mechelen ring road, started in 2013. Ingenium was charged with the design and monitoring of the implementation of all technical equipment in the hospital.

The hospital is part of the non-profit organization Emmaüs. Over 5000 people are working in more than 20 Emmaus health care centres.
The technical concept of the Sint-Maarten hospital building, with roughly 750 beds, is based on a distinct vision towards durability and functionality.

Ingenium was charged with the design and monitoring of the implementation of all technical equipment of the hospital. We are using our expertise and know-how in the hospital sector to provide the client with intensive guidance. Like that, optimum decisions regarding comfort, budget and desired functionality could be made. For concrete implementation of these decisions, a team of specialists was available for HVAC, electrical circuitry, high voltage, medical gasses, sanitary facilities, communication systems and energy. The medico-technical part of the hospital includes fourteen operating rooms, day treatment, intensive care with high-care boxes, outpatient treatment facilities, bunkers, medical imaging and an emergency ward.

A.Z. Sint-Maarten took the new hospital in use, as planned, in 2018.
