Ingenium increases the sustainability of your building through BREEAM
BREEAM
BREEAM stands for Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method. It is a method to assess and classify the sustainability of building projects, developed by the renowned British BRE for the market of office buildings in Great Britain. Meanwhile this method had been extended so as to be also usable for clinics, retail, industry, schools,…
On the basis of different criteria, classified in nine categories, the sustainability of a building is evaluated objectively. For each of these criteria it is being verified to what extend a building scores better than legal instructions and the standard market performances. On this basis the building obtains eventually a classification ranging from ‘pass’ to ‘outstanding’. This classification allows to compare a building objectively with other buildings.
Objective
As an engineering bureau INGENIUM can assess and classify your building project in accordance with the BREEAM international method, but also support you during the building process, in order to make your building as sustainable as possible. A BREEAM certificate with a good score increases permanently the value of your building project.
Surplus value
Our strengths in this are among others:
- To make a good BREEAM score, it is important to make the right choices from the beginning of the project. Ingenium Energy has the necessary expertise and competences to give you proper advice.
- Although BREEAM assesses sustainability in all its aspects, approx. 45 % of the criteria has directly or indirectly to do with the technical installations of the building (energy, comfort and health, pollution). As an engineering bureau for technical installations, this is of course the core competence of Ingenium Engineering.
- Certain criteria bring strongly into focus the good use and follow-up of the building installations. Ingenium Commissioning can provide for you, also after the occupation of the building, the necessary follow-up support.
