Grand hotel Knokke

The Grand Hotel Knokke complex, built at the end of the 80s, consists of approx. 110 flats. Currently these are heated by means of individual non-condensing open gas wall boilers built at the end of the 80's which are installed in the storerooms of the flats. The current chimneys in the shafts are not adapted to work with modern closed condensing gas wall boilers.

Ingenium researched in detail the possibility of installing new flue gas ducts in existing shafts, stairwells and even against the rear facade, on the one hand, and the possibility of working with air/air heat pumps, on the other hand. The 4 most common situations were investigated, as there is a mix between underfloor heating, heating with radiators, electric domestic hot water production and gas-fired domestic hot water production.
